MP3 Madness

"Fire up your MP3 player, put it on shuffle, post the first 10 songs that it plays. Optional: Include a lyric fragment." Thanks to caddyman for this one.

This was a lot of fun - although I haven't got much on my laptop at the moment and the list suffers somewhat from having the entire 'Songbirds' double album on it LOL! One thing I note is that I are mostly living on another planet LOL!

1. 'Hunger Strike ' Temple of the Dog

"… But I can't feed on the powerless
When my cup's already overfilled"

2. 'Bring on the Rain' Jo Dee Messina with Tim McGraw

"I might be barely breathing but I'm not dead"

3. 'Thank U' Alanis Morissette

" how 'bout unabashedly bawling your eyes out "

4. 'Frozen' Madonna

" Love is a bird, she needs to fly
Let all the hurt inside of you die"

5. 'A gentle place' Clannad

6. 'One and One' Robert Miles

" The heart isn't always true
And I am not always fine"

7. 'Strong' Cyndi Lauper

" After you kiss me goodbye
How I'll break down and cry.

8. 'Self control' Laura Branigan

" I know the night is not as it would seem
I must believe in something, so I'll make myself
believe it
That this night will never go"

9. 'To be with you' Mr Big

" Build up your confidence
So you can be on top for once
wake up who cares about
Little boys that talk too much"

10. 'Exile' Enya

" My light shall be the moon
And my path - the ocean."

I was annoyed, the next track is 'My lover's gone' by Dido and should be in my list!

hmm, mine would be meaningless - more than half of it (4Gig hard drive) is filled with spoken word stuff: BBC radio LOTR, Unabridged Pratchett books, Hitchikers radio series, Old Harry's Game, that kind of thing. Who needs music? :-)

'Self control' Laura Branigan!

I love that song!

(Who's mp3 collection is currently on a HD still waiting to go into his PC after 6 months)

I loved this song when it first came out. Of course at the time I had no clue who it was and cared little. Years later I decided I still liked the song and needed it. However this was afore I had access to the Intaweb and so I had to make do with humming it at peeps and quoting lyrics. This didn't work. Then one blessed day I happened to have the same conversation for the Nth time with another friend and she said 'I think I know who that is'. We were a bit tipsy and I forgot about it for a bit. Then one birthday she presented me with a CD and it was the whole album! Cue much singing and bouncing of Fish. Every time it comes up in conversation I find another like minded soul who loves it too... I am most amused. Don't suppose you liked a track called 'Across the Miles' by Survivor? I seem to be the only person on the earth who does! (S'ok - I don't believe in miracles and it is v trashy :) )
